Ring Brothers stun SEMA with blown, 980-horsepower Chevy Chevelle ‘Recoil’

Ring Brothers 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

The Ring Brothers are back at it for the 2014 SEMA Show, unveiling a suitably wild 980-horsepower Chevrolet Chevelle that goes by the name of Recoil. Yes, you read that properly.

We aren't sure what's more impressive, the immense power of the supercharged, fuel-injected Wegner Motorsports LS7 V8 or the fact that it can be developed gulping nothing more than 91-octane pump gas. Alongside the big blower, Dynotech driveshaft, Flowmaster mufflers and nine-inch Ford rear end, Mike and Jim Ring have fitted a Tremec T56 transmission that's been reinforced by Bowler. Distinctive three-piece HRE wheels have been fitted, with 20-inch hoops in back and 19-inchers in front.

Aesthetically, the track-oriented Recoil is finished in BASF Sand Storm paint, while the exposed carbon-fiber strips on the hood provide a unique take on racing stripes. That's not the only CF on this muscle machine, either, as the Ring Brothers have fitted a hand-laid, carbon-fiber front bumper and mirrors. The Recoil's cabin is the definition of functional, with simple padding on exposed seat frames and a Racepak gauge system readily conveying that this car is all business.

Take a look up top for our live gallery from SEMA and then scroll down for images and a press release from the Ring Brothers.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: Ring Brothers 1964 Ford Fairlane ‘Afterburner’ brings in $247,500

Ring Brothers 1964 Ford Fairlane Afterburner

The 1964 Ford Fairlane you see above is anything but stock. It originally debuted at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and it's one of the vehicles that helped cement Ring Brothers as a force in the custom car world. Underhood is a fuel-injected, 427-cubic-inch V8 engine from Roush that puts out a stout 560 horsepower and 540 pound-feet of torque, so this beast is just as much go and it is show.

That said, the show part of the equation may be its most impressive attribute. Much of the body is crafted from carbon fiber, including the hood, fenders and bumpers. Billet aluminum makes up a large chunk of the rest.

Called "Afterburner," this custom Fairlane just sold at the 2014 Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale for $225,000 plus a 10-percent fee. Check it out in our high-res image gallery above and the official auction description below.

Ringbrothers shows 1965-66 Mustang fastback carbon fiber body

Ring Brothers 1965 Mustang carbon fiber body

We covered one of Ringbrothers' more extreme SEMA builds yesterday, the De Tomaso Pantera-based ADRNLN, but if that well-executed but over-the-top Italian-American exotic is too much for you, then perhaps this Ring Brothers 1965 Ford Mustang fastback with a carbon-fiber body suits your tastes better.

What the performance-parts manufacturer is showcasing with the Mustang is the carbon-fiber body itself, which is fashioned around the 1965-66 fastback. It can be bought from the company and bonded to the skin and unibody as a do-it-yourself project, or you can take your Mustang to Ringbrothers and have the body installed there. The fenders, doors and quarter panels are two-inches wider than stock, and Ringbrothers offers a custom widebody chassis to those who want the complete package.

The show car looks sharp in person lowered on HRE wheels, and we appreciate the bare front end so we can see the supercharged V8 and front coilover suspension, though the details on those performance upgrades are slim. Also note the custom independent rear suspension setup at the rear.

Check out Ringbrothers' description of the carbon-fiber body below, and check out the high-res photo gallery above.

Ringbrothers ADRNLN Pantera is yellow, isn’t mellow

Ring Brothers ADRNLN Pantera

In the annals of automobile history, there have been many successful vehicles from small European automakers powered by good old-fashioned American V8 engines. Perhaps the most well-known of these Anglo-American mashups is the Shelby Cobra, but another model that figures prominently into the discussion would be the De Tomaso Pantera.

The mid-engine exotic you see above started life as a 1971 Pantera (the car's first model year), but it's been heavily modified by the crew at Ringbrothers and renamed ADRNLN... which, for whatever reason, is 'adrenalin' in all caps and without any vowels. The car's original 351-cubic-inch Ford V8 has been replaced with a GM LS3 engine made by Wegner Motorsports, hooked to a ZF five-speed manual transmission.

While the striking yellow paint may draw in the most eyeballs, the interior is equally unique, with work performed by the innovation skunkworks design team from Nike - yep, that Nike. There are a ton of intricate details worth checking out in the image gallery above, and all the specs and suppliers can be found in the press release below.

Ring Brothers 1970 Chevrolet Camaro "Diversion"

Ring Brothers 1970 Chevrolet Camaro

Every year at SEMA we enjoy seeing the latest creations from the talented Ring Brothers. Last year they debuted an incredible 1970 Mustang, and their latest project is this 1970 Camaro nicknamed "Diversion."

Ring Brothers specializes in producing unique cars, and "Diversion" is no exception. The Camaro sits on a custom-built chassis with a specially fabricated body featuring extended rockers painted with BASF Mineral Gray paint. We're always impressed with the unique billet details of their cars, and this Camaro has them in spades - hood hinges, door handles, taillight bezels and more. The car also features custom Forgeline three-piece wheels, Baer brakes and Flowmaster 44 Series mufflers. Under he hood is a GM LS7 massaged to over 650 horsepower running through a Tremec TKO-600 five-speed transmission.

You can see the Ring Brothers 1970 Camaro "Diversion" in detail in the high-res gallery above.
