What's a gearhead to do? This weekend marks two big automotive events on the American calendar - the
Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the
Woodward Dream Cruise. You can follow along right here at
Autoblog for all the action from Pebble Beach, while
Woodward is a trickier proposition. It's not so much news or new models at Woodward, but the atmosphere. Capturing it via text and photos isn't the easiest thing to do.
Thankfully, the team at
Autoline Detroit will be webcasting live from Woodward between 4:00 and 5:00 PM EST today. Now, you might ask yourself, "Why aren't they out there tomorrow, you know, during the actual Cruise?" Despite the "official" cruise being on Saturday, the heart of the event is spread out over the week preceeding (this writer would make the argument that the Thursday and Friday night before the cruise are actually far more fun than the day itself).
Autoline also has a slew of guests lined up for the event, including
Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of Chrysler's
SRT performance brand.
Ian Callum, head of design for
Jaguar, will also be on hand. Indeed, the guests are the other reason for the Friday webcast - Callum has already announced that he'll be cruising Woodward in a new
F-Type, and we've no doubt that Gilles will be doing the same (although more likely behind the wheel of a
Viper). Getting time with them on Saturday just isn't feasible.
We'll be showing the webcast live. All you need to do is
scroll down. You can also head over to the
Autoline website, and submit your questions Gilles, Callum and the rest of the guests.
